Ya, But Inbound links acre more powerful than Reciprocal link.

 

Reciprocal link exchange is only good if the other site is very reputed and has good contents. otherwise one way or 3-way link exchange is better than Reciprocal. Do not give any chance to search engine to penalize your site.

 

Its good but one way link is 100x better. focus on one way link. not link exchange.

 

Reciprocal links are useful at tyms but not always. better go for 3-way or 4-way link exchange.

 

In my opinion, link exchanges is useless nowadays. The internet has grown and there are many other ways to build links.
If you do exchange, you gotta go 3-ways while the linking and the linked one needs to be on a different server + have different C class IP address.

The answer is relative. It works similarly like Syphon property of water. 2 pages take part in a reciprocal link exchange. One is better in quality (quality content, high PR, good backlinks) than the other one. The poor one gets benefited in this reciprocal link exchange. For such link exchange white-labeled search engines give positive value to the low quality page and the high quality page looses its reputation to the search engine.

The basic art of link building is simple. Let all other sites point towards your pages, and you don't keep any loose-hole to escape away from your pages.
