From the spoilerific trailers I've seen, it looks very action heavy. Probably all you're gonna get from Capcom anyway. I think it will annoy some old school fans, but then I guess they'll buy it regardless, just cos it's RE and they'll eat it up. I think I'll play Leon's scenario first, as Ada is meant to play a villain role this time and her and Leon go back to RE2. Chris' story looks awesome too. No Wesker, though, but his son Jake is in it, with Sherry Birkin as his partner. Apparently, Ada will be playable after completing all three scenarios (only 5 chapters each). I'm gonna watch the 3D film Damnation first, which is out in around 2 months.
Anyone played the demo of it yet? You cannot get it on XBL directly; I hear there is one game that has a code to unlock the demo through XBL, however it can be obtained online. There is not much in it, but it lets you get the hang of the controls.
There was some issue with people not being able to get their demos working from that one game it was bundled with, that's all I know at the moment. I've heard some mixed reaction from it all, though that is expected since the series hasn't changed much since RE4. Some are referring to it as the zombie beating horse, but that's only an opinion. Rest assured, there will be a metric ton of DLC to buy for this. It is Capcom, after all.
Yeah. That's Capcom for you. They're only in it for the money now. However, almost ALL franchises go down the same road in the end. You either stick with it or find something else to play. Maybe people already abandoned ship... I look back at RE1 on the GameCube (the 2002 remake) and it was by far the scariest game around. It still holds up today. Same with the first two Silent Hill games. I liked that, even though it was a remake of RE1 on a different console, lots of things about it were not changed, chomped up or missing. And the mansion was so eerie too, because of the newer graphics. The corridors were so dim, sometimes the only light you got was from a thunder flash. You never knew when a Crimson Head would appear. In case you don't remember, they're the fast zombies that return with claws if you don't shoot their heads off or burn them. I actually liked that you had to destroy their carcasses with fire, to prevent them from coming back. That's real horror stuff. I doubt Resident Evil 6 will be anywhere as scary, but it will be epic. I won't doubt that at all! But after RE4, it's just been shooters, on-rails games and other bland crap in relation to the series. I do actually like the Hollywood movies, with MJ in them. But a lot of fans hate them... Part of why Capcom changed the series was because they knew people preferred action games. Ask anyone to run a poll of what they prefer and I'm sure it'd be action mostly, with some wanting a combo of both action and horror. Capcom unfortunately - I think they just don't get it anymore.
I loved RE4. I liked RE5. RE6 looks like RE5 but more action.. which is not what the series really needs right now. Fans all over are aching to play an atmospheric, haunting, claustrophobic Resident Evil. RE Revelations on 3DS is a step in the right direction, but there is little puzzle solving involved.
Now that this game has been out for a while, does anybody on DP think it's boring? I got frustrated with a couple of the levels near the end, but all in all, RE6 was a bit of a letdown. Plus, this game was so not eligible to be called a survival horror when it was just the same old gun style action scenes and you were rarely alone. The story was decent, as RE games do tend to have a good plot to them no matter what. But it was rather bland otherwise.
Really keen to play RE6, has been a awesome franchise sucks that the movies aren't similar to the games though. ~slutz
I guess in Resident Evil 6, much monster character. More challenging adventures, exciting and thrilling. Could play some of the characters that we choose, and of course each different character skills and adventures.
If you go on biohaze.com, there was a rumoured announcement about RE7. I personally just want the RE franchise to be scary again. All the action RE games are sell-outs.
