Hi, I need to know if a freshly registered domain say in Godaddy can be sold / transfered to another Godaddy account ? Do I have to wait for the 60 days period or does the wait apply only if there is a registrar change ? thanks
60 day wait period is only for tranfers to other registars. Pushing to the same registar has no wait period.
You can "push" the domain for free to someone else, which means they need a GoDaddy account as well. Accounts are free to get, so it shouldn't be that much of a pain. Also, before you sell it, why not park it for a little bit to see if it gets any traffic? That could help you sell it or understand more about the domain's value.
I agree, with 3 'yes' it's pretty certain it is possible, you can always contact GoDaddy Technical Support.
Thanks for all the replies. Its because I just want to sell off a few good domains that I have. I was a bit confused as i tried to contact Godaddy and when I asked them the same thing this is what they had to say - Me - Hi, I need to know if a newly registered domain can be transfered to someone elses godaddy account - or do I have to wait for the 60 days period ? Godaddy - Yes sir the domain will have to go through the 60 day period before you can account change it .If you have any questions please call support or email us. Thank you for using GoDaddy and have a good day. Me - Let me clarify this one last time - wait for 60 days even if it is to be transfered to another Godaddy account ( same registrar ) ?? Godaddy - Thank you for contacting online support. I apologize for any confusion but a domain name can be transfered from one GoDaddy account to another at any time. However, every time the domain name is moved from one account to another it restarts the 60 day registry hold. I guess its settled as all of you rightly said that, transfer to a different registrar has to go through the 60 days hold period but it is possible to transfer another account on the same registrar. Thanks guys
