Reselling Domain Names?

Is it a good idea? Like if a new product comes out, you buy the domain quick, and sell it later? Does anyone make money with this method. If so what domains would you buy? Like for instance the PS3, what domains are valuable, THEPS3.COM? PS3ONLINE.COM? FREEPS3.COM? I would like to get into the market, and was wondering the best way to do so, and if it is profitable?
    Thanks so much for looking,

You never know. You can try... But no one can guarantee you anything.

Yeah as suggested be careful with TM, but you can never know if you will make a profit on a domain or end up stuck with it.

If you register the name before the trademeark then it could be fine but again, you never know.
About the names PS3.com would be most valuable and most probably the company would wnat to buy it. The value of the rest of the similar names would be much lower.

I don't think it's a good idea overall. Trademarks is one big concern. Another is finding buyers. Third, the new technology or product has to be a success within a year.

I've registered on speculation of product and the result was probably 10 domains in 2 niches that I let expire.

I'm not saying not to ever try it, but be selective and don't go for too many variations. Additionally thoroughly research the product and what would be domains would applicable towards it.

My, E, and I are usually pretty good suffixes where you can't go wrong.

I believe one sound investment that's upcoming is domains with "vlog" in them. It's speculative but there is some evidence that vlog domains will be viable. Also, vlog is on a huge scale whereas PS3 limits you to a niche.

The larger the applicability, usually the better.

Well find a good domain that someone will want to buy try to get least words possible and try to avoid domains with hypons in them.

If you dont sell the domain what ever keyword is in the domain you can easy get hosting and make a forum post alittle and add a few ads then make a few articles on the site and you will always make back your $10 just from the ads, then if you still want to sell it you can sell cheap or even give away on other sites that always gets traffic ;)

could have some TM issues but you will probably make some money even though it may be difficult to as there is some competition.
