I just wanted to take a few minutes to post about a positive experience with ResellersPanel. Many of you may know that in the past I was very unhappy with ResellersPanel. I have really tried to bury the hatchet, though, and a very good deal on semi-dedicated servers attracted me back here, and tempted me to try ResellersPanel's services again. (I still maintain a couple of free reseller sites as well.)

The offer I am speaking of is the semi-dedicated hosting package. This is one of the best packages I have ever seen, and I decided to use it to try out one of my latest hosting ventures, Hostizzo.com. Four things attracted me to this package:

    The good price
    The unlimited disk space
    The unlimited bandwidth
The Resellers Panel control panel (which I happen to like very much)

I signed up several weeks ago. Setup was very fast, and the process was very smooth. The only problem through the whole thing was that there was a very bad phone connection between the RSP representative who called to verify the account and myself. I couldn't understand a word he said, but somehow managed to verify the account! Other than that, things went very smoothly (and the phone problem may have been on my end, I am not sure).

It took only an hour or two until I received account information and was able to login to the account. I immediately began moving my site over, uploading the files and changing the domain nameservers. I had about 900 MB of data, if I remember correctly (some of it I ended up deleting, as I did not need it). FTP upload speeds seemed fine, limited by my DSL connection more than anything else (I did no official speed testing, but it seemed Ok to me). I had no time-out issues or anything like that.

After the site was up and running, I was very impressed with the speed. I have yet to notice any downtime, and the speed is still reasonable even as I add users and data to the site. I have not made use of the database functions, as the site uses XML-based databases, so I can't comment there. I would only expect that portion of the service to be just as good as the rest of it, though.

In my time so far, I've opened 2 support tickets related to issues I was having. In one instance, a function I was using in my htaccess file (the Action command) had stopped on the server. Though it was not detected right away, I did receive a very helpful response from the support representative, who commented out the line in my htaccess file for me. (I was getting a Server 500 error, and wouldn't have known where to begin looking for the problem! He found it fast!) When I replied that I wondered why it stopped working all of a sudden, he took a closer look and found that the Action command was off, and turned it back on very quickly. Another support instance had to do with a question I had about sendmail (no problem, just looking for info). My inquiry was handled very professionally. I must say that I am very impressed with the quality of support in these two instances - it certainly did not used to be so good, so I am happy to see the quality of the customer support is improving.

All in all, I just want to say that I have had a fantastic experience so far, and I am glad I decided to come back and try Resellers Panel. If you are looking for a semi-dedicated server, you may want to take a look at what ResellersPanel is offering. It really is an unbeatable deal.
