I'm going to try to learn a little about reselling hosting plans and such and will do a search. are there any sites that you recommend that I should visit for this purpose. thanks
www.hostmatters.com charges about $20 a month to be a reseller which allows you to resell their packages at half price. The hosting market is just rediculously oversaturated. It's hard to be competative without offering something besides just hosting.
If you want a small, cheap reseller account and a quality service, I would go with ResellerZoom. They start from $5 per month, but if you need more space/bandwidth, there is always room to upgrade.
I'm with resellerzoom, great pricing and service. If you want more indepth reviews you should check out webhostingtalk.com forums...
I own a registered web hosting and design business in the UK. I have been going for over a couple of years now and if you are thinking of going in to reseller hosting I would advice you to take note of the following: 1 - Do not choose cheap reseller hosting packages that offer unlimited disc space. There is no such thing. Research and pay a little more money from a nationally recognized company. I have been told of horror stories where people have got cheap reseller hosting accounts only to find them down most of the time and after a few months the company just pulls the plug and they are left high and dry. 2 - Do not undercharge. This will provide a cheap impression to your business. 3 - Never try and sell unlimited accounts as there will always be someone that will fill your server with anything just to prove that it is not unlimited. 4 - As stated above, do not just sell hosting. You will never make any money. You need to use the hosting as a sideline or addon and offer other services like web design or turnkey sites. 5 - Most importantly is service and support. A good hosting company should always provide this. I would offer you one myself but we have stopped providing this service.
I never had any problems with my sites. Lately my account seems to be getting a bit slow, but that is because there are too many accounts hosted on the same server (got a budget account) They are now upgrading my account and moving it to a server with less accounts
yep it looks like that....they had huge problems last month with one of their servers and it was down for a day but they compensated that with one month money back or one month free whatever you want ..... overall they are good and I am staying with them
I used wiredhub for a while, they have thousands of sites on each server, NO GOOD. I was complaining, they said they would fix it, but did not. I was thinking that maybe ResellerZoom is doing the same thing.
I've got half a dozen reseller accounts that I use for my own sites. I've often wondered what it would be like to try and sell some hosting but really can't be bothered with the hassle - I can't believe that the money I might make would compensate for the responsibility of keeping everything online and maintaining a bunch of clients. Tell you what though, if you emulate A Small Orange you won't go far wrong - most of my other reseller accounts have been with major hosts like PowerVPS and the like, but the guy who runs A Small Orange manages to strike a good balance of client care while being obviously a small enterprise. As a customer you feel that you are getting a quality service.
