Hi I want to try to be a reseller I will need to offer shared hosting at the moment and i will need some help from the hosting company for the first steps (Basic things like how to add domains and if the users ask for something to install in the server) I think a server with 4gb ram and 100mbit speed it will be ok. (what panel is good and easy to use?) cpanel or plesk? How many sites i can host in a server like this? (I know it depends from what sites but lets say something not very heavy) About? how many sites it depends what they host some can use alot some dont and your best getting offshore host alot of people are more instrested in that now as people like to host illegal stuff like copyright mp3s etc your best getting a dedicated server unmetered bandwidth
4gb ram and 100mbit isn't really up to you, but you could go around asking hosts about that but it wouldn't matter much, you are just a reseller, you can't impact that too much and cpanel would probably be best for you since its easy and WHM is awesome when it comes to reseller management, stay away from master resellers because the softwares are usually buggy and these companies don't last very long before they give out and the sites hosted depends on the host itself, ask them, usually they'll say unlimited which is normal for resellers. also no such thing as unmetered dedicated servers, 100mbit dedicated line isn't unlimited. so no, that's not his best bet, a 100mbit dedicated line will cost him around $500 with the specs he's looking for (4gb ram and I assume at least a quad core server)
