Rescue me from Hell GoDaddy Hosting

I want to download all files from root of my GoDaddy hosting account, how can i do that? Is there any way to download or take manual backup? I cannot login via FTP client, can anyone help me? Thanks

I think that this guide requires FTP though... but follow what steps you can. The guide also talks about using putty / ssh, you might be able to use (i think its called) winscp, it allows you to use commands (like normal putty / ssh) but as there is also a GUI its easier to upload / download files.

I have never done this on the godaddy system so I cant comment from personal experience, but once files are out of godaddy, (depending on site and database size) its a fairly straightforward process to move and setup the site elsewhere.
