If one was to go about creating a filesharing type of site. What requirements are needed with hosting? You will need a very large hosting wouldn't you? Does anyone know how much it cost for hosting for a filesharing type of website?
Yes...you need a dedicated server to host filesharing website. Hostgator have some cool advance features I saw there. May be you can find a solution there.
Depending on what files you are sharing, you should be more concerned that what you're doing it legal (or is being operated from a country where it is).
For starting, a VPS will be sufficient. But you need a offshore VPS coz to prevent shutdown by hosting provider. 50GB space 800GB bandwidth is sufficient for startup.
Lol... 50gb? thats not gotta work buddy... You Need 1Gbit Ports Unmettered with atleast quadcores of server.. because of you expect to start a small one and change to a bigger dedi later its not gonna work... you need to start atleast a quad with 1.5tb Hdd.. Unmettered ones.. good script and a couple of gangs to help promote.
