Hey guys, I'd like to hear reviews for my website www.sandra-bullock.co.uk. You don't have to say you're a Sandra Bullock fan, I'd like to know more how you like navigation, site usability and the way news are posted etc.

i think you should lose the Adsense from the top..maybe put a tower lower on the right side..
missed the link to galleries (orange) completely and was left wandering aimlessly around.
Then found the link...and clicked a few thumnails to see the full size picture...and didn't get any to work. And the name chris seems to appear a lot for no reason???

generally a really nice site though

Clicking Thumbs only opens a bigger picture when you are a registered member (which is free). This should prevents spiders from causing a lot of traffic and also people from clicking many pictures without a real interest in Sandy. I think someone who has real interest in Sandy and pictures of her will sign up :) that was my philosophy behind that.

I will think of something to make the gallery link better reachable!

I don't agree, people don't sign up that easily, they will just look for another site. I think you need a good reason for people to sign up. As far as spiders, just use robots.txt or use a script to deny access to the large pics if the UA is a robot.

Put a hotter pick up front, maybe a body shot in the upper content. Make it look more lively and attract the fanatic female copy-cats and the male pervs looking for slips.
ad placement isn't totally inconspicuous, could be slightly better.

again, all from a consumer point of view, I'm no good at layouts, i just know what I like to look at...

anyway, it looks pretty good over all, but in a review you always focus on what's not so good about it.

The site seems cool. how long it took you to develope this site. My carmen electra site is comparatively very simple :p. Hehe, but anyways I did not want it to be complicated in navigation. So simply put have the left navigation bad and pages. Thats it!!

Your site seems advanced navigation (tho little complex) in that context. I have more adsense on my site than yours :D

Some good points here that make me think :) I already thought about a way to remove the ad from the top and place it in the right with a skyscraper ad for example. Although this is no problem for my screen (1280x1024) people with 800x600 will probably see a vertical scrolling bar and that's what I personally totally dislike so I have to think about it how I can handle that.
The pictures aren't the only thing when you sign up (despite that you can't find such high resolution mag scans of Sandy anywhere else on the web), you get also GBs of Sandy vids to download which aren't available anywhere else... hmmm, maybe I should promote that fact a little more since it doesn't help when I know that but don't tell people.
A complex navigation was always my problem, I put a lot of detail into the design and that what keeps me from having a truly simple navigation. I just like to look at a nice site, I think a "simple design" is the wrong design for a celebrity website because it's also the look that makes such a site in my opinion. It took me about 1 week to make the whole site in English and another few days for the German translation. But I had the main contents swipped from my old design, otherwise it would have taken me longer.

Site is okay. There is alot of empty page in the middle and personally I hate sites that have tables on left of page, middle and then right side.

There are no tables anywhere on that website?! It's a pure CSS-Design.

i like it... simple yet effective... my only suggestion is to somehow incorporate more of her images into the main page.. :) nice job making it in pure css :)
