    Hi Shawn,

Just wondering if you could please unban my account. I know you may not like co-op wieght rented out(as i now know), but i was basing it all on the many posts i have seen which even you agreed that its in the TOS to rent the link space for the co-op... I advertised it just like that, to rent the space..

Please understand, I have been a great contribution to the co-op for over a year now, with many sites. I would not jeapordise it doing something i thought was illegal.

Here are a few posts i am talking about....

    Thanks for your time.

    Thanks.

Sorry, renting weight is not allowed, as I said numerous times in the first thread you linked to (these are my 4 posts in that thread)...

So I'm a little confused on how you were basing selling of weight on those posts and somehow misread it?

I knew you would understand... Thanks a lot Shawn.

But it really is a tricky one. IMO you should ban renting ad space for co-op too, because there are hundreds of posts from users who had the same misunderstanding as i did.

But then i suppose there is governing it and so on.

    Again, really appreciate it.

    Have a nice day.

    Some one should explain how

the right way with out breaking the rules!!!! Every single time some one tries to do that, it's called selling weight!!!! Some people can't use the co-op or don't have enough weight to advertise there site, so they try to do that...and get shot down being told there renting weight!!!

I'm not renting space or weight, but it sounds like Shawn is saying if you own a website, you can offer to sell ad space on your site (say the footer). The person who buys the ad space can decide what they want to do with that space... i.e. place a banner ad, 5 text ads, or perhaps even code that will show text ads in that footer. What you can't do is place co-op code on your site and then say you have "xxx" weight for rent.

Example: "Ad space for lease. I am renting footer space on every page at www.xxxxx.com. You can place a banner ad or text ads in that space - it's up to you."

Think of it as renting commercial space from a landlord. What you do with the space after you lease it is up to you. You can sell blue widgets or accounting services for blue widgets - just don't mention that the space would be ideal for co-op widgets.

At least that is my read.
