    I am just wondering is there a backlink checker software that is free. I dont want to end up wasting time coding my own.

    One popular choice that works really well is traffictravis.com, there is a free version that allows you to put in specific keywords for a website and it tracks your ranking in the main search engines.

    Well I don't know a good backlink checker that's why I coded my own. It's a windows tool and you can have it for 20 USD.
