Hello All, I've been working on a new site that uses Google Adsense and was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to give me some advice on my ad placement. Site: http://www.webdkp.com I've been following some of the suggestions that I have read via Adsense Help as well as this forum to try to find a good placement / setup for the ads, but my CTR rates remain abysmal. I know I can't say how low due to policy, but lets just say I've seen people on this forum write that they would be ashamed to have CTR rates 5x higher than mine Part of this can be traced back to the nature of the site, which is providing more tabular data then articles that would match up better to products. Additionaly many of the visitors are repeat visitors, meaning ad blindness develops over time. I counter-balance some low CTR with a high number of page impressions (Over 10,000 per day) but I'm still hoping there is a way to improve the CTR itself. Would anyone on the forum happen to have some suggestions? Cheers, Zedd
The best way to increase CTR is to add more ads to the page and at prominent places, which will increase the chances of users clicking on them. You only have one tower ad unit in the left column. You can easily add 2 more ad units on your page and 1 link unit and upto 2 search boxes on your pages. You should read around the forums also to get more tips, and work around and try different ad placements to experiment with your CTR. Also, Id suggest you should blend the ads well. See a few example sites which are earning from Adsense and you'll get lots of ideas.
Thanks for your suggestions - I'll be browsing through some of the other sample sites here to see how they blend in the ads. I think I will look into adding a search box to the site once google develops links to more of the pages. My main concern with adding additional text bock ads is that it may come across as 'too much' to my users, and cause them not to use the site.
