I would like some advice on how to get teenagers to my forum / community, we went online yesterday afternoon. http://www.teenagewriters.com Any tips to get the target audience to my site are welcome, the goal is to get a steady post flow of a minimum of 3 new threads a day by 20 august Keep in mind all tips have to be free, we have no budget unfortuantly . Link building is free, targetting other teenage forums is free, prizes attract the young well - but is not free (unless you get the prizes sponsored)
thnks, i was wondering where i can find sponsers, because i know offering free stuff always gets people registerd.
You might try talking to teenagers and see where they post, how to reach their friends via messangers, etc. and other recommendations. They could probably tell you a great deal about the hows and wheres. Just a thought.
There are some articles related to "teens" posted in this thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=19129
Having a detailed profile page or mod and then adding an "invite a friend" feature works as an excellent viral marketing tool.
if you have the HW power then make an easy to sign up blog site others do it like Bill http://spaces.msn.com/ or xanga or http://myspace.com/ and more the have all one in common they are fighting for Nr ONE in hotlinking pictures - they appear to lack storage space and teenies appear to have no money ... hence a blog site with at least a FEW MB free space to upload pics instead of hotlinking but you need a powerful and easy to use blog SW to manage in real time new accounts re sponsors apply soon for Google adsense https://google.com/adsense/ if if traffic is high enough you get enough to pay for expenses
Thanks everyone, i am reading your articles, went to adsense, and i just joined nexopia and put a link to my site in my sig and started posting hope that will bring some more traffic. Thanks again your replies are wonderful.
I wonder if a forum area that lists upcoming creative writing/poetry contests open to teens might help? Particularly ones that offer cash or other prizes. Shannon
