Reputation

Would it be possible for DP to add the ability to see more than your latest 5 reputations? Also, it would be cool if reputation was un-anonymize. I've always wanted to see who loves and who hates me But I guess that would just start reputation wars, as if we don't have enough wars already.

 

Just take a screen shot. That's what I do for all my favorite ones.

And it has been suggested many times to show the user names, but I highly doubt it will ever happen.

 

Sometimes I will make a post and get a mass rush of both red and green rep, and I miss a bunch of them because I get a lot at once sometimes.
Also, I don't want to store 50,000 screenshots of comments, but thanks for the suggestions.
P.S. it won't take any more resources to be able to view all the reputations, it is already stored, so it is just a few more mysql queries to view all.

Thats probably one of the reasons Shawn doesn't do it,

There is way to many sql calls to begin with,

Check out the "username" thread to find out more info on the sql querys

 

If it is inside the user control panel, and you had to click a link to go to the page, the queries would be cut way down.

 

I'd actually like to see all the reps i get, say see the only 5 where it is now, and click a link and see them all. Not see bad rep, rep warz.

 

I'd like to see inside area 51, But I think neither one of us will get our wish

 

As long as we are wishing, I'd like to be able to see a list of the last 20 or so rep comments that I have left for others...

i bet you it would shock a lot of us; we'd probably find out we're either a lot nicer, or a lot meaner, then we thought

Seeing the last 5 is the default setting, but it can easily be increased via the admin control panel. I'd not mind seeing 10 or more personally, as it does not really take all that much (resource wise) for the added call...they are all logged anyway *shrug*

That is not a default option, so would take a bit more then just flipping a switch, but there is an add-on that can allow it.

Though, I don't really expect either to happen *shrug*

Yeah, I believe that showing who have gave you reputation is much better. When a person gives rep, they must think over the consequences of this. In the current case, they just leave red rep and forget about it.

 

Or at least the ability to reply to the rep, even if we didn't know who we were replying to. If someone left me a red rep that said "You are an idiot", I would feel much better if I could send them a message that said "You are an idiot too" or something equally childish.

 

If people leave their name in the comment area when leaving reputation then there isn't really a problem. Obviously not everyone is going to do it but perhaps it would be useful is everyone makes a conscious effort to leave their name when leaving rep and it might, just might catch on.

I always leave my name when leaving rep and would encourage everyone else to do the same.

I've left them on several reds. I figure that way they know just who thinks they are idiots

Though honestly, I think leaving names for either color is likely a bad idea as it generally gets reciprocated, which kind of defeats the purpose of the entire system. Not that the entire system is already defeated

 

is that why you only leave a ~Q on your greens? I had to work to figure out who did it.
