Someone didn't like one of my posts in the General forum, as such, they've left me reputation in another forum so it actually effects my reputation standing. Not that I really care too much but is this against the rules? If I don't like what someone's done in the General forum, can I leave them reputation on another of their posts which will actually have an effect?

For some simple-minded people, who cares what are they doing?

Real question is, why doesn't reputation count when someone leaves it in the General Forum? Anyone who actually cares enough about it will leave it in another forum, so it doesn't make sense.

Because, anyone can post a funny thread or joke in General Chat, and thats where the majority of people go.

So if people keep finding one persons posts funny, they'll keep repping and repping.

But in other forums, you need to put some meaningful content to get rep.

Not only what agent_dweeb said, but general areas also lend themselves to negative rep abuse (like in P&R).

Should they leave you negative rep elsewhere if they don't like your GC posts? No. Can we do anything about it? No. But honestly, is it worth stressing over anyone that would act like such a childish little twit? Again, no.

If it bothers you too much, just give them negative rep too. If you can manage to pick up the pieces of your life and move on though, then good for you - you're the bigger person.
