To be honest I didn't like the second post by the seller - bit too confrontational.

Fair enough the bids ignored the price he wanted but if you want to bid in a thread then you have a right to do so at any price really IMO.

Balkanboy, what is achieved by your noy knowing who red repped you? The whole point of it being anonomous is so that people can vote bad advice without getting into the realms of argument. I can guarantee if you knew, the first thing you would do is Pm them and start a flame war. Look you are complaining withut knowing, imagine how you would behave if you did ;)

I get sad when I get green from someone and don't know who. When I get red rep (or attempted reed which is grey because the comments are negative but the rep is grey). I always take a look at the post to see if maybe I have done something wrong, because sometimes it is possible to misread the question being asked. I do not give out crap advice, and am happy to admit when I am wrong, as it means I have learned something and am more knowledgable for my work. When I get red rep saying nasty stuff and telling me I am an idiot, I just smile and get on with my day.

People are people wherever you go, and we suffer the same injustices on a forum as we do in life. It just allows the little men to wield power :D

Since you gave an example I would ask you this...Why did you post in that thread? You didn't have a bid or a question so why just say "nice site"

There has been a lot of people complaining that there is a lot of unrelated noise in sales threads, whether it is "PM sent", "PM me", "Thanks", "Looks Good", etc - I imagine that annoyance factor is turning into rep

Maybe a green rep to the seller saying "nice site ~ balkanboy" would have been a better way to let them know your thoughts.:)

I just liked the site. It was out of my budget so I couldn't place a bid. Just wanted to say it's good looking and it's worth money asking for it. If I need to get reds for wishing luck with sale, I will keep my opinion in future for sure.

It's just not very good that if someone thinks oposite than me, he can give me red just because of that. I alwaus say what I think and don't want to select or modify my opinons just to suit everybody else. After all my point is that fact anyone can give you good or bad rep for anything just for fun, doesn't show anything reliable. I am sure I will not take rep into consideration in future when looking at someone's profile.
Even in this tread I got some reds with message "here, another one for you"
Everything looks like a joke :)
iTrader is something else and I respect that.

    Balkanboy,

ANY complainant about red rep will always end with the complainant receiving more red rep, it is the way of the world. It is just people saying FFS shut up. Without seeming harsh, as has been pointed out here, all bar a few of your posts have been in the buy or sell area, so what can you expect? You will not be seen as a participant of the community.

Here is a tip though, had you posted 'nice site, I just wish I had the money to buy it, as it is well worth bidding on.

Then you would not have received red rep, although, you have to compare the bidding thread to an offline auction. Would you interupt an auction for a Van Gogh to shout out 'NICE PAINTING MATE' :D How do you think people would react ;)

if we delete all the posts of fryman with that pic, than his post count shud get down by atleast 100..:D
anyway post some informative posts and help others like will.spencer or minstrel and others and u will get lot's of green reps. Unfortunaly my knowledge is not much so I can't help others. Hence I waste my time on GC :(

i was there once before. in my case each of that was worth -10. :D
yfs1, why would this be considered annoying. i thought it is so that people know that something is going on. i usually don't post "PM sent" but i don't see why we shouldn't.

There are a few threads in BST where people are complaining about it. When someone says "PM me for Details", why do 20 people follow up with "Please PM me"

Look at those peoples post history some day, they post "Please PM Me" in every sales thread in quick succesion. I can guarantee you they have no interest in the site. What ends up happening is they clog up the sales threads and make them very dfficult to read.

As far as the nice site comments, if it was once in a while it wouldn't annoy people but if you post it to every sale, it starts to wear thin. This all annoys me personally when I am trying to buy a site and you can't find any actual bidding because there is so much pad posting noise.

I agree here, but if theres a rule that URLs and other stats related to the Website/Link/Service sale should be public in B/S/T, then the noise in the B/S/T section would be reduced. Even the seller wont be able to bump the thread with messages like 'PM Sent'.

As I said in the other thread, thats up to Shawn but I do think there are valid reasons for not disclosing everything (including the url).

Regardless, you still shouldn't just randomly post "PM me" when the OP asked those interested to PM them. I suspect people legitamately interested in the site just get on with it and PM the person rather then pad their post count.

Anyway, just pointing out a reason someone could get a red. If you contribute to the forum you probably have plenty of greens to counteract it (If you were dead set on posting PM me to every thread)

Absolutely. people who are serious really do not want another variable to go wrong, they read the offer, and follow instruction, take control and send that email/pm, get on with work.

I have had occasion where I have been recruiting salespeople. I give absolute clear instruction on a number to call, and who to ask for etc. ANYONE who steps outside of this si automatically rejected, as if they can not respect the company wish, and follow simple instruction that early on in the relationship, then what hope is there. ;)

Slightly off topic, but I just found out yesterday that you are not credited with the rep I leave nor can you see who left for you. Kind of sucks that those I left rep for may not know where that well wishing came from. I got some red yesterday for one particular post, and in all honesty, it sort of pissed me off at first. But in the end, I know that if I do well, my rep will continue to the green. (one hopes)

No:) w I know to sign all my reps
