DP is a very bid forum. I love it. I see every day many posts/threads are spam or rule violation. I know some rules and when i see those posts i try to report them. I think the person reporting a post should be given postive rep and a message by the mod/person responding to the report that it has been handled or something like that?

    What you do think people?

This was already suggested and addressed recently. Mods do not have the time to rep everyone who reports posts and it would cut into our ability to leave rep on other threads that deserve it (either positive or negative). If you report posts, do it because you want to help keep the forum clean -- not because you expect something in return. That would be akin to rep abuse of coming out and asking for rep which is not allowed. No one is required to leave rep, and that includes mods. When we feel a report truly deserves it because someone went above and beyond (such as tracking down a dupe or someone who's made quite a few good reports) then we often do leave positive rep.
