I tend to see more an more reputation like threads, from people that say: i've got that red, here's the damn comment from that morron, i want it green again, etc. I tought maybe a PM or maybe right in the confirmation e-mail (and a PM) a reputation guideline could be mentioned. Something like : Or similar
The problem is unless you physically go to them and have a talk with them, users are still going to ignore reading (posts, FAQ, PM, email, etc.) A better idea would be is a user with 100 posts tries to make a thread with the word "rep" or "reputation" in it, it redirects them to a FAQ and then asks if they REALLY want to create the thread.
Maybe the page with the confirmation should include that "Oh geeze not this shit again" photo... and a pic of the knives and machetes to be employed.
I swear everytime you 3 get in a thread, there is talk about shanking someone. Is there reputation protection? I just got a new carton of smokes, maybe I can buy some...
It's the DP way. Shawn is a bad influence. I never even thought about stabbing people until I got here.
Well something can be done, at least. Let's do it, as a test. The PM thing, or the mail thing, or the 100 posta thing.
so how do you know what your rep is? Never mind I just figured it out. For any other peons reading this: After you post a post you click on the scale and it lets you know. That's the scale in the top upper right cornere of the post between the post # and the rate link.
Click on "User CP" and there you will see the ratings that people gives you. Could we not add the rating system in the FAQ? (it is missing)
Doesn't Shawn have the cool script that links to the Google Maps .... a geo-locator would make it much easier to "dispatch justice." After a few knocks on a few doors with the follow-up stories of "walk-by" stabbings and the message will be clear ... crystal clear
