Reputable sources to buy traffic?

I'm not really interested in buying specific links or doing trades. I just want a flood of traffic for a specific project I'm working on. Anyone know any reputable sources to purchase traffic from?

I've heard many a horror story and don't want my own to tell :)

AdWords, if you consider that a traffic program.

All the "buy XXX number of visitors for (insert low price here)" programs are rip offs. Avoid them.

Do not buy into the hype of the traffic sellers!
I one time made that mistake (okay, several times) and found that all my so-called visitors were from China and India, not my targeted market.
Then bought targeted traffic from US.
Yeah, that was a waste of my money!

All it does is waste your bandwidth if you buy traffic.

Start a ppc campaign, or ezine advertising, or develop your own mailing list.

Try adbrite.com... I have not used them myself but I know people who did with mixed results.

it alll depends on what ur selling. One option they have that I think is nice is the RON ( run of nework ad ) in which you can chose a category or specific segment of the market and have your ad run on these sites.

    hope that helps

I used Miva.com. I personally didn't get good results but my copywrite was terrible at the time. I just about broke even selling affiliate products so at least I know that they were real people coming to my site.

agreed, adwords cannot be beat for targeted traffic. Bid on a broad keyword and you will have as much traffic as you have a budget to spend.
