I just got this email from google he he he Hello, Thank you for submitting items to Google Base. We would like to inform you that we have disabled your items entitled "Digitalpoint member Digitalpoint member Digitalpoint member Digitalpoint member Digitalpoint" and "DigitalPoint member Digitalpoint mightyb Digital," because they are not permitted by our Program Policies (http://base.google.com/base/base_policies.html). Keyword Stuffing: You may not post excessive, repetitive, or irrelevant keywords in the "title," "description," or "category" fields. Please use the labels feature to include terms relevant to your item. If you feel that we've evaluated your item incorrectly, do not hesitate to email us back. Otherwise, please know that we're working hard to make Google Base available to a wider variety of Web content. Sincerely, The Google Team
Disclaimer: I didn't report you or any one!!!! er I still see your listing!! Though when I got a listing dumped after editing it, I didn't even get an E-Mail from them!!
I told You, there was a litle spam in some items Howeva, I didn't report you, either And now I'm 4th, not bad...
From the people I talked to at pubcon i would list everything you got in there.. .articles and whatever. Especially stuff with hyperlinks. Its basically going to become Google classifieds.
wow btw I did report you... sorry... eek.. lol.. But still its good they are moderating somewhat it will make this a more fair competition! again sorry!! I didnt think it would have that fast of a effect.
Did you find out if they're allowing bulk submissions now? Also, any reccomendation on the best way to submit articles?
I reported him too so don't worry...Not to win the competition (mightyb - If I accidentally win, you can have the prize) but because it was the perfect situation to test if they do remove reported spam. So far that is one good result to figuring out the process. By the way, whoever gave the red for turning this into a serious analysis, sod off - THis is a webmaster forum
When google base first launched they had options to upload from rss and xml so you could just import your blog on a scheduled basis. Almost all of the mass upload tools are gone now =( I am guessing that they were just overloaded from people using this to import there froogle feeds and stuff like that.
Thanks for ratting me out also... Keyword stuffing: If you'd like to include keywords with your item, please use the "labels" attribute. Content outside the "labels" attribute must be in descriptive, logical sequences. For example, please remove the keyword "DigitalPoint Member" from the "occupation", "Education", and "Sexual Orientation" attributes. - Gee, nobody is doing this but me? haha Base is very simple, there is no way to really SEO it, stuffing will still win. This is silly stuff, there is money to be made!
Now that I'm #1 on both URLs http://base.google.com/base/search?...3=digitalpoint+member&a_y323=0&a_s323=0&a_r=1 and http://base.google.com/base/search?...=digitalpoint+member&a_y323=0&a_s323=&a_o323= I'm now taking out as much Keyword stuffing as I can. Three changes and I'm still #1.
I'm number 8 already on the first url... May be I need to do some seo to get the top rank, will it bring some traffic?
in a round about way that is what we are all trying to figure out This is good stuff to know cause a little birdy told me that by q3 of this year they hope to have google classifieds (google base) ready to be integrated with other organic search stuff. It was explained to me as kind of a cross between the book database and froogle. meaning like you would see "search for $keyword on google classifieds?" Or you could also see "check out other people interested in $keyword"
