Reporting threads is tougher than making them :)

hi

the time interval between two consecutive reports is about 1 minute whereas time interval between two posts is 30 seconds or so..

does that mean that DP staff is discouraging people from reporting threads because that 1 mintue interval is too long..

ur opinions are welcome

 

Probably don't want spam emails. Remember you have to post a reason why you are reporting, so you can just add other links where they are spamming or whatever.

 

their are different people who are spamming/breaking the rules. it becomes very difficult to report them with that 1 mintue interval.

 

I don't see why you'd have to go into a reporting spree, though. You can still report 1440 posts in one day. Isn't that enough?

 

That's because number of good posts is much higher than the number of spam posts. .

 

what i usually do is open a lot of threads which interest me. then i report whatever are violating the rules. therefore usually i have to wait for 40-50 seconds after each reporting

 

I think the two are not supposed to be compared.

Reports when done send emails to moderators(or they just record it as sent), to prevent spam from DP system, there is a difference of 60 seconds between 2 consecutive emails from single user.

I think that is a good point

You really only need to report one post in a thread. The report sent will have a link to the thread's original post. If you simply say that there are SEVERAL bad posts in the thread, the mods will likely look.

Likewise, if there is a spammer on that is flooding the place with multiple (duplicate) threads then you really just need to report one of them. In the report just state the problem, and the mods will look at his/her posting history.

I think it's unlikely that you are actually reading ten threads in ten minutes, but on the off chance you are, just collect the thread urls and PM a mod...

well i once PM'ed one mod with a list of about 15 posts which were completely spam. the mod replied back saying that i should use the report button as that is the fastest method and more reliable

therefore PMing the mod is not really a good idea..

 

bst is hell nowadays. i would have report much more thread if i don't need to wait

 

Does it matter? Would you ever report so many posts anyway?
I agree with Joe, theyre not meant to be compared. The reporting setting is probably default - something Shawn didnt change, where as the number of posts was altered to less to allow people more freedom.

 

Because there are that many shameless mofo who bump their thread, spam the forum and hijack other's thread

 

yes i report more threads than that. i can effectively report about 20-30 thread all containing bumps/spam in 10 minutes but that 60second timeinterval really is bad for me..

u just need to be on the spy for some time and u will urself notice how many bumps/spam people make

beats getting all the spam and makes you think while you have that extra 30 seconds. is it really worth reporting this post?

 

i am not reporting posts of the same thread. i am reporting different posts of different threads which have been created by different users.

i hope that clears the above mentioned point
