So, I'm using a new program to track click fraud and track ROI. WOW - I'm getting hit alot and I spend a pretty penny on the keywords that keep getting hit over and over. I can autogenerate a report and send it in to Google and Overture. My question - Has anyone succesfully done this and gotten a credit back? It looks like I will be needing to turn in a weekly report; does anyone think Google and Overture is going to jive with that? A few months ago, Google was getting sued by one of these tracking systems and so I don't know if they'd be sore against advertisers pestering for fraudulent clicks. But man, I've got IP's and time stamps all listed. What I'm using now to track click fraud is pretty cool. Thanks anyone!
Over the years I have presented Overture with proof of click fraud on numerous occations, never have I received a dime in credit, they always explain it away. Most recently I pointed out that one advertiser was listed 7 times on the same keyword, of course nothing done. Jack
? It tracks multiple clicks on your ads. Software like this will have you add their tracking code at the end of your URL inside of AdWords or Overture. When the same IP address clicks on that add multiple times, it displays a box saying that your site suspects click abuse and shows the surfer their IP Address. Then it usually forwards to your site. Then the software will notify you by email. The one I use will also auto generate a report that you can then email to your account rep or if you don't have one, the support email for adwords or overture.
Yeah, that's what I assumed, but thought there might be more to it. I'm surprised Google doesn't provide some kind of report for you. The only reason I can think they don't is it might be infringing on someone's rights? Either that, or they're afraid if people knew just how much of a problem click fraud was, they'd lose some serious market share. I dunno... Brad
