That old news is new news to me and it kind of annoys me. I read on your blog
if you just want traffic you can find low pr with high traffic so google doesn't think you are trying to pull a fast one...

Hey buddy, i was heavily involved in SEO long before the first ever Pagerank rollout and i'm telling you Pagerank is a joke.

You admit it yourself by saying PR lost it meaning. All Pagerank means is how much you can sell a text link for, or adds to the value of a domain/site.

Yep. =) Coz there is no way, if anything they'll just drive it underground.

Even if I report a link I *THINK* is paid... how could they possible prove it? I just don't see it happening.

    Eskarina,

I ran out of rep for today.... but that is hilarious! =)

Google is doing this to somehow monopolize the internet advertising industry. Of course, buying links is more effective way of advertising than adwords.. :p

Those people wanting to report their competitors, it's not going to work. Google isn't going to use the reports to target individual websites directly.

They are going to use the masses of data to define algorithms that detect similarities in the reported websites, then start devaluing these common link types.

So... If enough people report bullshit websites it will have an effect on the dataset and make their job of detecting/devaluing "paid links" more difficult due to the error riddled data.

The top and bottom of it, is that Google wants to rule the world. The sooner people realise this, and boycot Google, the better it will be for the internet. They will have to change their bully boy tactics if they lose the support of the masses.

Google doesn't have to prove anything.

This isn't a court of law, where you are innocent until proven guilty.

This is your ranking in their search engine -- they can treat your site however they want.

Google succeed by surfers. And now they make rules. You can't do this, can't do that. This is not good for a long future for Google Inc.Suggest they make an improvement on their PPC program and the way their search algorithm to close the MFA sites or crap sites and make their search result more relevancy.

they can do that.they had many talents to do that.Don't treat users like shit.

    Google is against paid links.

So, if I buy a link for Matt Cutts blog or About.com on one of those $1 permenant link wordlinks pro sites and report to google, will they remove Matt Cutts and About.com from Google SERPS?

Nope, they won't do that. But if I or You (small webmasters) buy a link, our sites will be removed. Pure double standards!!

Hmm...I wonder why they aren't checking sites like textlinkads.com and simply "penalizing" every site that sells links. Or perhaps they could google for "selling links"? Shouldn't this be easier than waiting for people to report paid links?
