I have a webmasters forum and since it's kinda dead I want to replace it with a blog instead. There are about 850 pages indexed so far from the blog. Now if I delete the whole forum what are the affects on the new blog?
i think if you start with new domain it will be effected but if you use same domain name for blog,,,,after deleting forum submit url to search engine...it might be helpful i dont have much idea but i suggest dont delete forum and continue blog
Why not set up the blog in a sub domain or sub directory? That way you can channel some of your existing traffic and PR to the blog and, if it gets any traction, feed some love back to the forum.
Ye right. That's what I thought initially. Redirect it for like a long time and ultimately stop doing it. Hopefully both blog and forum should do well..
I don't understand why you want to replace the forum, just keep it as it is and host the blog at the same site. Like the blog may be blog.mydomain.com or mydomain.com/blog
keep the forum and also add the blog, and promote both of them. you will start to get a lot of traffic.
Well the thing is the forum is dead since its start. So thought maybe replace the whole existence with something else. Well I guess Ima keep both and see what's gonna happen..
Well if you have a forum with signatures dofollow, then keep it running. People go crazy when they see dofollow forums And your forum isn't new (if it has PR then even better) Free Backlinks for suckers Run a small contest, like who posts maximum till next 10 days wins a domain or anything you want to give away.
