Replace the default header image in Wordpress

    you have to change in CSS file i suppose

    Yes exactly! Images in wordpress will not be updated until you update your CSS.

    I dont think you need to update your css if you keep the same name and extension
    Usually the header image is named as header.jpg even the extension should be in lower case if you keep .JPG then it will all mess up

    This is what I do and it works for me, I dont have to change CSS file

    I replaced the image, but kept the same name, but the old header is still there! The new one is just under the old one.

    So basically they are both there, but how is that possible, if I replaced the original one?

    Again, the name is the same, I just replaced the .jpg image...

    check the page source and find from where the old image is coming.
    clear cache.

    OK, so I solved the problem.

    I'm writing it here so should someone have the same issue...

    I altered the colors of the header and then changed image. Well that was the problem, because I reverted to the original colors and the new image that I replaced the old one with finally appeared and the old one vanished.
