HiMy vehicle enthusiasts blog which is around 10 months old has gone from 50 to 2 visitors per day over the last two months. I have okay content, post on related forums and blog comments regular. I am thinking of changing my very competitive keywords in posts and titles for less competitive and long tailed keywords to see if this will help as it seems a highly competitive market. As I must be in the sandbox or simialr. Is this worth trying ?Also, I have read somewhere on here about a PR tool that can track your keywords on google (hope it's free), could anyone point me inthe right direction.Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks
If you noticed this change in the past 2 months then your site is most likely a victim of the Google Panda and Penguin updates. I don't think changing your keywords would make a difference. You should just change the way you build backlinks to your site, as well as promote it. Work on internal SEO, make sure that the content in your site is of high quality and that will get others to link up to it.
in some cases low competition keywords can give you a thousands of visitors. so its upto you how to choose the best keywords.
If you have replace highly competitive keywords with less competitive ones the keywords then only problem is your keywords ranking must go down.
