Rendering Issues in IE6 - Small Fish Big Money Dot Com, Help Appreciated, Thanks!

    Hey everyone,

I just had a really quick question, I recently started using a faux css column on my site...it displays well in IE7 and FF and SAF, but on IE6 it has a problem rendering properly (the right sidebar floats to the bottom instead of staying on top of the page).

I would appreciate some help, tips, hints, solutions, links or even a full fix.

    Thanks a lot,
    Fabien

Naw, I see it alright. It's common float drop. Dropsy, hehe.

Your container is 960px wide. Your left-floated thingie is 610px wide. Your rsb (right side bar) is floated right and is 350px. 610+350=960 which just JUST barely fits : ) There is no padding or margins set on those two floated boxes, which is good, but IE6 has a way of adding s'more from... somewhere.

Because you have two floats, I'm not sure what it is. It's not double margin float bug cause there's no marigns to double. It's not 3pixel jog, cause there's two floats, not a float and a static div.

You could try giving one of the divs a negative margin on the inside-- like, on the left float, give it a negative right margin, or a negative left margin on the right float.

I'd rather the two floats were both left, but that's me. There's some issue IE has with right floats containing any left floats sometimes.

Either that or use relative positioning and just shift the visual appearance a few pixels.

Kinda odd that you could see it while I couldn't though.

Thanks for your comments everyone, I actually did some changes to my CSS but I have not gone back to check it on IE6, so perhaps I fixed it.

Thanks for your help! Much appreciated!

    Kind Regards,
    Fabien

I only looked in Fake IE6 4 Linux-- I didn't check in Tredosoft. Maybe that was it? The column is there, but where the Menu text starts is not right at the top. It didn't look hugely obvious, though, except Fish has posted here before and I know what the site (should) look like.

When I'm back behind a real 'Blows machine, I'll check again, Fish.
