you dont have the abilty to change you index page which is saved with google..
if you chnaged your old index page to new one it will automaticly change to the new one at google..just wait for sometime.

If your site is submitted to google webmasters and using it. there you have option to remove pages.

You could file a request at Google to remove /index.php but I doubt you'd like the result :) Google probably won't deindex it anyway as the rest of the blog pages link back to it.

Google crawl the index pages of low pr sites once a week afaik, they always crawled mine on sunday so I wait till monday to check on the effect of changes in metatags and stuff. Wait a week, keep posting content.

Do not worry about that. it will be changed soon.
actually he is not asking to remove the index page. google search result has old page. he changed the index page to new. it is not updated in google.

Also, i do not think google crawling depends on PR of that site. Personally I have a PR 0 site. Google crawls it everyday.
