Removing Blog Name from Article Titles

So I have been googling around and have found out how to remove my blog name from the titles of my articles... in an aim to improve my seo.

However I have just written an article, checked it in google (it's there), however it's displaying my blog name in the title... even though if I view the article my blog name isn't in the title bar...

What have I missed?

Check the date on the cached version at Google. It may be an old page with the old title.

 

Thanks for the reply. It was a brand new article placed on a brand new page... odd isnt' it?

 

Maybe odd, but maybe googlebot got to it right before the change was made.

 

If you're using the all-in-one seo pack or the platinum seo plugin just click on the plugin and you'll see several fields you can eliminate:

%post_title% | %blog_title%

change to:

%post_title%

 

Let us know what you find out, what the solution ends up being, as a lot of people will want to know the answer... including me.
