Removing all adsense ads for x amount of time

Running a large forum, i have to deal with very low CTR's and therefore low earnings.. if i have a day with 0.4% CTR then thats a great day!

So convinced im missing out on better revenue i have decided to give the fastclick network a trial run, and am planning on removing all adsense ads.

Now my question is should i inform google of the removal? and would this be a problem to them, cos im sure i've read something about it violating TOS by removing and later re-adding the ads?

No, I doubt google will care if you remove their ads.

You don't have to announce them but make sure you don't put them back on after a couple of days . Google doesn't like "spikes" of traffic, from what I have heared.

This is not true and if you really want to be secure just send them an email.

tell them you are removing the ads but wish to stay in the program. otherwise they may take it as an indication that you are withdrawing.

or just put a search box somewhere. :)

Um, why are you removing Adsense ads in the first place? Just leave them there and add your Fastclick ads above them or some such. When you run CPM ads, you're just relying on impressions to begin with; either way, you'll get paid for them, so why in the world would you take down your Adsense ads? If someone clicks on the Adsense ads you left up, you'll make extra money; if not, then what's the harm? Your train of thought is puzzling.
