Hi, I went to Google webmaster tools-removals and entered the url. When I signed back in it has the pages marked as removed. Not pending or denied. however, when I do a google search and use the cached page they are still there? Any help on this?
its not going to be removed instantly however, if you have asked Google to remove it then it will be removed
As my opinion you can remove a cached or indexed page form Google. You must need to send them a mail to remove this URL, may be they can help you. Good Luck
Yes, what fr@nc!z has said is right, even if you delete in from the webmaster panel it will take some time for google update its indexes.
I checked today and the post was gone from cache. Here is the chronology for those intersted in the process. I submitted the removal to URL removal through Google Webmaster Tools The next day it appeared in Webmaster Tools to be removd, it said as much. I checked google cache it was still there. I checked today it was gone. It might say in Google tools it is removed before it actually is, though it was shortly removed.
I also had the same problem in the past and to tell the truth I've done the same, just gave some more time to Google and the page was removed. It's better to do nothing in some situations.
It is better to wait rather sending e-mail to Google. Google will automatically remove the cache page.
If you want Google to update your pages more - then you need to update them about the fresh content - do you have a sitemap, or any RSS feeds?
Hi, I have no RSS feeds, and no site map. I am using these blogs as a learning tool. I am not sure about how to go about creating a site map. When I read the info originally on it, it was suggested that for a blog it was unnecessary and also for something without dozens of separate pages, it was also not necessary.
I just learned a trick with google webmaster tools... try entering another website, only this website would be without the www. I did this and removed a URL for both .mysite.com and www.mysite.com and it finally stopped cacheing it! Strange. I sent in a question about this to Google but no answer yet.
