Having Adsense in your sales page will do you more harm than good. It is like providing other alternative source to your potential buyer to buy elsewhere. Creating unwanted compettion for your business. What do you think? Am I right? Nita
In a sense you are in fact correct. Your CTR is often not more than 3-5% though so it wouldn't hurt to have AdSense up as another form of income. Plus, AdSense will add to your total profit, which in turn will lead you to create better products/services for your customers. I'd play around with different scenarios and see which way pays out better. Then, stick to the way that payed out the best.
I guess it depends on the product/service you are trying to sell. Just an example, you might be running a ppc campaign that is attempting to cache an audience that is not necessarily targeted at your product and not very easy to convert. In these conditions I have found that this traffic can provide good ppc conversions, and a good roi, provided the campaign's cost is minimal.
Well, wouldn't you just pick some less popular sites and use them for adsense so that you wont have competition?
Like I said, it depends. Because remember, we are still trying to convert for our main product, the adsense is just a Plan B. Please note that this doesn't work with all types of products.
Wouldn't it depend on where the adsense was? Putting it before the call to action and putting it after would be two totally different things.
Had noticed this before. On my scripts selling site I had less sales when I was using adsense. In my new design there is no adsense space in it. But now I am getting more sales.
big sites who actually sell something, don't use adsense it looks bad for possible customers to see a site that runs adsense for extra income
You have to think about opportunity cost and come up with the best combination to maximize your revenue.
In fact, the AdSense model is meant for information and content driven websites not ecommerce sites. If you've got a solid business plan you've already determined that you are in the business of selling something other than advertising(AdSense) and should concentrate your efforts on selling that product. The miracle of sending your customers to your competitors only works on 34th street.
Ok, I have both AdSense and aff marketed products on my site. Although adding AdSense reduced sales and commissions, the bottom line of commissions+adsense has become much better.
If your product is good i dont think it will matter, if your product is not that good then for sure you want to keep all interest in your site and no one elses.
