    Hello everyone,

I am having my site redesigned and I will be adding/ removing pages to the site.

Should I remove my site from the search results and get Google to re-index the site again when I have added or removed pages??

    Your advice would be appriciated

    Thanks

No, you should not do that. You should
    a) make sure as few URL's change as you can manage
    b) make sure there are redirect-links from the old pages to the new ones (especially the pages that get found by google)
    c) have a 404 page with a link to the new homepage, so visitors don't get lost
    d) just change the site - google will notice at some point.

yes, kh7 is right. Don't remove site from google. Just prepare pages which you will show instead of your old. Put in them link to mainpage or if you can links to new sites

It would be a shame to have to go through the "aging period" or the "sandbox" again.

You should try and have oldsite->new site as fast as possible. And leave the oldsite there till your ready to change over.

I don't think he means changing domains. Just putting up new content, on new pages.
The new site should have good internal linkage: HTML links between pages. Menu on each page, links to all new pages etc.

try and use as much of the old sitenames as possible and/or 301 redirect the old ones to the new ones.

It would be impossible for you to get google to deindex the page...I have websites that have nothing for more than 6 months and the urls still show up the the index.....I've tried the url removal tool many times.

You don't need to do anything. I completely changed my electronics website to a seo website in September, and then startted getting backlinks in DP, Sitepoint, etc, one month later, google indexed the new seo websites.

You'll lose all sorts of rankings if you take stuff down or remove yourself from google, that is one thing you definitely do NOT want to do.
