You should use the adwords editor and either use the advanced search facility to select all keywords on broad in your campaign and then bulk set them to paused. Or, use the adwords editor, export to excel, sort by match type, set all broad keywords to paused and post back.

If you need more help PM me.

you should always use the adwords editor - it is so simple and makes work so much easier when optimizing large campaigns.
I once built a campaign with 70 campaigns and about 560 adgroups...imagine the amount of work involved when having to create destination URL's and ad text.
    the editor was my savior:)

Here is the trick.....never use broad, phrase or closed keywords together in one campaign. Seperate all of them ....put broad keywords in one group, phrase keywords in their own group and close keywords in their own group. And dont forget to use negative keywords when using broad keywords.
the other two replies above have told you what to do to remove the broad keywords.

In the adwords editor choose the keywords tab and select "Make multiple changes" and "Add/Update Multiple Keywords". Then select "My data contains information for columns and adgroups" (paraphrase!) and paste your data in there. You get a chance to review it before you post so you can make sure its imported right. Just make sure you get all the columns you need in the right orders.

Remember though, its best to set your broad keywords to PAUSED rather than delete them. If you do that in excel, when you post back they won't change.

adwords editor.....play around with it. Here are a few helpful tips:

    1. arrange ads, keywords or campaign by column to simplify some views
    2. use the find & replace function (but be careful when using this function)
    3. the bulk edit function is also very useful e.g. you can highlight all ads in an ad group and then change their headline, 1st or 2nd line of ad text, display url & land page url

Adwords editor is a useful tool for creating ads but the web version is better for viewing stats.
