Remote access to MySQl through VPS Plesk

I am trying to remote connect to MySQl through my web server (Linux based Plesk), and I cannot get Dreamweaver to make a successful connection to the databases I have created.

Is there something I can do within Plesk that will allow me to remote connect to MySQL?

Any suggestions would be VERY helpful, thanks!

Your MySQL database is in localhost or outside? Make sure your user that you use to connect is granted to access the database, either from localhost and outside.

Plesk is about 3 or 4 dollars less than cpanel, but that doesnt make it as good as cpanel. anyways, there is an open source software available at sourceforge.net called MySql Administrator, which you can download and install in your local machine and it will do a lot of things for you, including monitoring connections, queries, load etc.
