If an outsider was take a look at these forums they would come away thinking that religious intolerance is practiced mostly by those that cling to a religious belief. There are a number of threads here started with the obvious purpose to bad mouth a religion. The funny thing is the vast majority of those threads are started by a so called religious person from another faith. It is not so hard to draw the conclusion from this that religious intolerance is spread by the religious. At least, that is how it appears on these forums.
Intolerance is everywhere, and unfortunately it comes in all stripes. I don't limit intolerance of other's religions to the religious, but many of my brother and sister atheists can dive in here, as well, and obviously intolerance among other areas - political, cultural - comes in all stripes. I just tend to hope we all embrace a useful wiccan creed: and it harms none, so mote it be.
I certainly would not limit intolerance of other's religions to the religious. It is merely an observation of this forum. I don't see many if any atheists on this forum starting threads only to bash someone's religion. There may be a few threads of that nature, but nothing next to the number of threads started by the so called religious.
This forum is cyclical in nature. There are booms and busts in every topic. Sometimes, we discuss a lot of Politics and stuff... Sometimes, it is Religion, Sometimes it is conflict in the ME... Sometimes, its time for Economics101... And rarely, we also get into Religion Bashing and questioning the existence of God... Its all One Big (Angry) Family...
