I hate to correct one point - but it was the British not the English. There is a difference.

Secondly (ok, two points), the British didn't kill the 'government leaders' in 1916, as there was no Irish government.

Thirdly, (ok, three points) we're NOT the most powerful country in the world.

Fourthly (ok, I WILL stop in a minute) - what about the Irish civil war?

Fifthly (referring to your later post). Yup, everybody hates us; and like Millwall - we don't care! As the United States are currently finding out barging into other countries and throwing your weight around does not win you either friends or respect.

There's a load more I could add but I'll save it for another day.

I wouldn't bother, there's no point debating with kids :)

It's a pity you've been banned because leaving aside your emotive language and colourful turn of phrase I actually agree with the basic sentiments of that post. One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist. The Taleban were on our side during the Russian invasion of Afghanistan. They haven't changed - the world has. The UDA were terrorists in the eyes of the Catholic community of Northern Ireland - and defenders of 'Loyal Ulster' to the Prods.

Well said! The goal is the same throughout nearly every culture and religion and it's the dogma and prejudice that hinders our ability to reach that goal.
