hmm, from what I know of Daniel and Revelations.. isn't the Anti-Christ to be from the new Rome? a part arab, part euro, uninsterested in women... male?

at least stateside, the common conjecture is that once the EU goes fully active with the 13 leading states as such... then he will reveal himself..or something like that...

Quite simply, the antichrist is anyone or any group that opposes Christ. Christ being Jesus himself. Therefore, those that oppose Jesus are the Anti-Christ.

Anti also means instead of. Those who put themselves between you and God are also anti-Christs. Only Christ stands between you and God.

 

I think this is what many christians believe about the antichrist:

1. A man from the EU (European Union) will sign or bring-about a 7 year peace plan with Israel and her enemies. This man is the Anti-Christ. I believe he will be killed, quite possibly assisinated by some group or person who is opposed to the middle east peace plan. At the moment of death or shortly after, this man from the EU, who was killed, will come back to life again, in reality Satan will have entered his body, and will possess him, giving him supernatural powers. People will start to worship him as God since he seems to even have the power of life and death !

2. There will start great plagues upon the earth. They will consist of: Incredible Storms, Earthquakes (even in places that have not had earthquakes), Terrorism will be worldwide,

3. The so called man of peace from the EU, will set up his own temple or site to rule from in Jerusalem (a holy site). In time he will require that everyone on the earth worships him as God, he will also issue the mark of the beast system (666). This will probably be some kind of injected computer chip system with electronic capabilities to allow electronic buying and selling and more, plus there may be an outward or visible mark on a person who recieves this 666 system. (Either way, the bible says NOT to get it ! Those that do, have signed their destiny, which is eternity in Hell !)

4. There will be plagues of insects, the Sun will become stronger (solar flares will increase and more, so much so that parts of the earth will be scorched and dry).

5. In time there will be a Nuclear War, centered around the middle east (Israel), and even an asteroid will hit the earth

6. There will be great persecutions and murders of anyone who becomes a new Christian or worships Jesus during this time. Also, if you do not accept the mark of the beast system (666) you will not be able to buy anything, and will probably be shunned and eventualy killed.

As you can see, the 7 year period called the Tribulation will be horrible ! The bible says there has never been such a time of trouble and there never will be again !

Hatred yes. Intolerance is a loaded word. Tolerance can be either good or bad depending on what you tolerate. You can be tolerant of hatred, evil, murder, rape, pedophilia, sexual abuse etc etc.

We as a culture need to toss that word out of vernacular as always being a good thing.

My original post was because I was curious if Christians were dwelling on this stuff all the time, and therefore influencing there feelings about Islamic countries. From the responses I have gotten so far that doesn't seem to be the case. Probably very small amount of christians.

And now for your viewing entertainment here is Jerry Falwell along with Pat robertson having a discussion a few days after 911. They think that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way are all partially responsible for 911 (for causing Gods wrath).

Jerry Falwell is one of those old time Baptist Revival preachers that used to put on old time circus type outdoor evangelical tent revivals to hustle people out of cash, then he went on to become a TV preacher!

Now he owns Liberty University and has an annuity program, he gets on TV and begs viewers now days, if you give him your entire estate before you die he pays you by the month until you die!

In other words, he is a con man and a criminal that the government gives tax free status to!
