Hey, Seeing as you are a proxy host, wouldn't it be a wiser choice to host proxies on servers installed with 'lighter' control panels, seeing as cPanel does take a fair amount of CPU and RAM resources (depending on how many accounts you have - RAM) Also apache is quite intensive, in terms of CPU/RAM, are you thinking of moving over to a lighter system, such as litespeed or lighhttpd? -- it would significantly make your proxies work faster as well as decrease any load issues that you come across with. Litespeed works with cPanel, however it's costly. Lighttpd, does not work with cPanel, however there are ways of making it work, if you search online, however I've seen proxy hosts use lighttpd for their servers, and they have directadmin installed, this could be a choice for you? Just some advice, as cPanel is not suitable for servers in a proxy environment. Or is that the other way round now. Good luck!
We have heard good things about "litespeed" but there has been no problems with hosting proxies on our servers before.
It's just an alternitive if you find that your servers loads are high, as if you switch to a lighter control panel and lighter system (lighttpd/litespeed), you would find that there will be a significant decrease in terms of load. I'm thinking of starting up a proxy though, how long have you guys been up and running about? And how long do you expect to be in business?
