Im currently with Cirtex Hosting and they suck. They say 99.9% uptime but its more like 80% uptime. They are slow as balls and uncontactable. I wish i could go with hostgator but i have a proxy list site, directory site and search engine site which hostgator looks down upon. Who is a host that is as good as hostgator but allows questionable sites?
the proxy list site and directory site shouldn't be much of a problem, assuming you don't have a proxy hosted within the proxy list site, I have seen a few proxy lists that do that the search engine can use up a lot of ram and cpu when it's gathering data for the database, that's the bad part, you are better off looking for a VPS or Dedicated server, you'll be lagging up a shared server if your search engine runs all day and inefficiently.
