Well for starters - you could do a google search on the keywords or related themes to your site to see which sites are ranking well. Also hunt around some of the forums related to your sites themes to catch other relevant sites.
Good question... and if I may extend the original question a little: Does google group or categorise websites to determine relevance? Or, do they simply determine relevance based on the content of the page where the link is coming from compared to content of the page where the link is going? Is relevance a theory that is in practice now or is it expected that it will be relevant for the future? So many questions... experts, your thoughts?
You can find out that the site is relevant if it is related to your site. What I mean is if your site is about web design company. Site that has Web design tools or resources is related to your company. You can say that the site is relevant. And the site also must have a pr to consider as relevant.
Relevance mostly means similar theme, similar topics and similar keywords. Say if you have a pet website with keyword "pet lover", then any linlback you get from pet related web pages or a web page with keyword "pet" are relevant. Also if the main H1 tag of the site from which you are getting link is optimized for that keyword, then it is even better... Regards, bnts
With "related:www.mysite.com", I get mostly unrelated sites in google search results. I don't know the purpose of it. May be google sees them as related. You can try this tool with your keywords. http://www.webconfs.com/backlink-builder.php
Yes, 'cause google isn't a semantic search engine..he is a lexical one..so he uses clustering to determinate the topics of a website and he uses clustering not only to analyze the text of your website but also your BLs. So the topic of your web site may be changed through the topic of its BLs.
Interesting. Then I think it helps to know whether you have good relevent links or not. Thanks kerouac3001,
