DMX-Grand Champ DMX is widely known by many Rap, and Non Rap fans. An icon, a Role Model, you name it. Some of his smash hits include "Ruff Ryders Anthem", "Party Up..." and other mainstream tracks. He is also a talented actor, and is featured in top films such as "Cradle 2 the Grave", "Never Die Alone", and "Romeo Must Die". But his real talent lies in his Rap, and I think most of you would agree with me. When DMX released his album "Grand Champ" in 2003. Fans were more than ready, as his album sold over 1,000,000 copies. DMX claimed that this would be his last album, but he later went on to release "Year of the Dog...Again" in 2006. I bought Grand Champ a couple of months after it hit the record stores, and it is my favorite DMX record, by far. Grand Champ is a great mainstream album, featuring appearances by Swizz Beatz, Styles P, 50 Cent, and more. Most of his beats are upbeat, which adds to the quality of the album, being an upbeat music fan myself. The fast paced songs, lyrics, and beats will have you listening to this album time after time, I lost count of how many times I listened to the Album. The replay Value gets a 10/10 from me. Overall, DMX showed his fans, and himself, that he is more than capable of making a great record. If you are considering going to the record store to buy a rap album, please make the right decision, and purchase this album. Van Damme-TimeCop Timecop was released in 1994, and it reflects the "future" of 2004. Apparently, this film was wrong about that. But in no means necessary does it make it a crappy film. This movie is about a man named Max Walker, who works for the TEC, otherwise known as a Time Enforcement Commission Agent. In the movie, his wife Melissa Walker gets murdered. The name of the killer is Aaron McComb. A U.S. senator (not a good one, if I might add). A greedy, money-thirsty villain. Max Walker has a plan, to go back in time and save his wife. But things are not always as they seem. In this movie, there are some twists and turns, which aren't very hard to understand. The special effects aren't too great as well, some are very cheaply done. Perhaps the best part of this film is the message that it conveys. Don't go back in time, or 1 simple mistake that you make, can change the entire course of history. And that about wraps it up, I would strongly recommend the viewing of this film. It contains some great action, great plot, and decent acting. But rent this film first. 9/10 Overall. Written by me, submitted to IMDB. Grand Theft Auto-San Andreas What do you think of when you hear Grand Theft Auto? Perhaps you may think it is a pointless violent game, perhaps you may think it is the greatest game of all time. I won't disagree with any of these 2 points, but I will go in detail about Grand Theft Auto, the series that revolutionized the course of gaming. The Grand Theft Auto gaming series started in 1997, featuring Grand Theft Auto 1, an over-head camera angle was used. Rockstar Games created sequels until the game that changed it all had come along: Grand Theft Auto 3. The third installment of this gaming series brought a new view to Third Person view. Featuring great sidequests, missions, and many more. What made the game so successful in the Gaming Industry was the free-roam ability. Your user could freely walk around wherever they went, with a unique 3D enviroment. The next major installment in the series: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, was a major success in the gaming industry. Featuring updated graphics, and such. This was the first GTA game I played in the series, and it was quick to become my favorite game. The action, the storyline, and immense violence played a big role in this classic. 2 years later, a new game hit the market, and was not surprisingly, a huge success in the gaming community, Grand Theft Auto:San Andreas. In GTA:SA, you play the role of Carl Johnson, aka CJ. Your mom has just been killed, and you have to return to the city of San Andreas to find out who did it. Along the way, you meet up with your old friends, which are very likeable, and well thought out characters. The voice acting was perfect, featuring The Game as one of the characters. The missions are thrilling, exciting, and feature a whole array of possible weapons. I don't like the enviroment in this game as much as Vice City, but it's still one hell of a world. To wrap up my review, if you could only get 1 game this year, I think this should be your pick. Not only does it feature great gameplay, it has the whole package: Gameplay, Storyline, Characters/Voice Acting, Replay Value, Environment, etc.. I think everyone would agree with me on this. Have fun playing San Andreas, which you can get free of charge by winning our contest. And that wraps up my review of arguably the greatest game and series of all time. Thats all the reviews I have written for now. Sean Paul was born in Kingston, Jamaica. For anyone that didn't know why he has such a thick accent. Sean Paul was a very popular dancehall DJ, and later became a rapper. His debut album, Stage One, wasn't the most popular of albums. In fact, it didn't go gold. But that didn't affect the Jamaican artist, because 2 years later, he released "Dutty Rock". Dutty Rock was the album that "broke the ice". His sophomore album sold over 2,000,000 copies, and marked Sean Pauls greatest career success. Some featured singles from Dutty Rock are "Gimme the Light", "Like Glue", "Baby Boy", and "Get Busy". After absorbing his success, and large fanbase, Sean Paul released his latest album "The Trinity" in 2006. The Trinity is a great album in its own right. It is one of the best in it's own genre of Dancehall. I can't name a single track that I don't like on this CD. What Sean Paul has that other rappers don't have, is consistency. You can't just like 1-3 Sean Paul songs, and hate the rest. Sean puts in equal work for each track he makes, resulting in an outstanding album. If you have trouble understanding what he says, don't worry, his album comes with a book of lyrics. Overall, The Trinity is an album that you can listen to again and again. I recommend it for all fans that like any of his tracks, because if you like 1, you will like the rest. www.relevantreviews.net
Birdman and Lil Wayne-Like Father Like Son Lil Wayne and Birdman are the main representatives of a fairly popular record group named "Cash Money Records". In "Like Father Like Son", Birdman and Wayne collaborate for the first time in their career. Baby was the one who created the idea, mainly to promote Lil Wayne as the main Cash Money rapper. When the album was released, they went climbing through the billboard charts, all the way to the #1 spot. I will now tell you what I think about the record. This album is what I like to call "Acquired Taste". I like it, but I don't generally become a fan of a CD after listening to it once. After listening once, I wasn't disappointed, but I wasn't surprised. Hot tracks like "Stuntin' Like My Daddy" and "Over Here Hustlin'" make this a nice album, but all of the tracks aren't as good to me. A case of Deja Vu appears on lots of the tracks. I didn't like this album as much as The Carter, but it's still a good one to have in your collection. It's one of those albums that you pick up just because 3-4 tracks are so good. Overall, if you have a spare $10 lying around, and you are a big fan of the Cash Money Label, Lil Wayne, or Birdman, you should definately consider purchasing this album. It looks like over a million fans are buying the record, that many people can't be wrong. www.relevantreviews.net
Wrote a review as a request for my dad. Pink Floyd-Dark Side of the Moon Pink Floyd is a very popular rock band from England, consisting of band members Nick Mason, Syd Barrett, David Gilmour, Roger Waters, and Richard Wright. Their most popular record by far is entitled "Dark Side of the Moon". And it defines their funky, bass, and classic musical compositions. Some may label the album as strange, due to some songs with no lyrics, I don't particularly disagree, but music is art, and you have to consider the most thought provoking proccess in the Industry. What would that be? Producing the songs. Pink Floyd did a great job of that, and much more. The album as a whole is very entertaining for all Rock fans. The beats are my favorite part, as they are nothing like you have ever heard before, especially from a Rock band. My favorite song on the CD is "Money", because it has the best production, and the best beat, in my opinion. Overall, this album cannot be missed by any Rock fan. When I say Rock fan, I don't mean Emo, heavy metal listeners, I mean Bon Jovi type fans, who can really appreciate Rock music for what it is. As some of you may know, I am not a Rock fan, so why did I make this review? As a simple request, and to show people that I can review more than just Rap music, but other genres as well. Thank you for reading.
Thank you It's great to post articles for site promotion. Cypress Hill-Till Death Do Us Part I am sure that most of you have heard of Cypress Hill before. In fact, I think that most of you have listened to a few of their tracks before. Cypress Hill started in 1991, with their self-titled debut album. It was very successful, and their career unraveled from there. Featuring lead singer B Real, Cypress Hill is a band that mixes Rock, Rap, and some Spanish together. The sound is very unique, but Rap fans should easily get accustomed to it, if they have never heard it before. Till Death Do Us Part was released in Spring, 2004, and featured the hit single "Whats Your Number?". I like the album as a whole, and their are no tracks that I dislike. The problem I see with this album, is that no single track stands out to me. Everything has nearly the same Cypress Hill sound. Luckily, I don't get tired of hearing it. The album features a unique array of tracks, like "Latin Thugs", and "Till Death Comes". Do not mistake this for a mainstream album, like 50 Cent or The Game. This is leaning more towards the acquired taste category on my list. From the other reviews that I have read about "Till Death Do Us Part", it isn't their best album. Well this is the first album from them that I have listened to in full. I look forward to hearing many more of their albums, especially their newest Greatest Hits Compilation. Overall, I give this album a 9/10, and there isn't really a reason to miss this one. If you have the opportunity to listen, I would recommend that you do so, especially if you like Spanish or Foreign music. Feel free to click on the link in my sig for more reviews. And I also take requests, if anyone was wondering. Some Video Games, I won't be able to review, due to not owning a copy.
Pitbull-Money is Still a Major Issue Pitbull released his debut album in 2004, and it was successful, reaching Gold status. In late 2005, the cuban rapper released a follow up remix-record, entitled "Money is Still a Major Issue". In my opinion, it is Pitbulls best album, and one of my favorite records. Some of you might be questioning my opinion, I mean come on, a Remix CD? Most rap remix CDs have a maximum of 9-11 tracks. But this CD is more like a full Record, featuring many new songs, as well as classic remixes. Pitbull worked hard on this CD, and it shows. To start off the CD, Pitbull throws a classic club-hit right from the start, entitled "Everybody Get Up", featuring a classic Pitbull-beat, and great production. The production was very solid throughout the whole record, featuring appearances from various Raggaeton artists, such as Nina Sky and Elephant Man. Another great song is "Mis Amores", which is a mainly Spanish track, but is still very enjoyable, due to solid beats and production. There is not a single song on the album that I dislike, and that makes it have a very good replay value. I cannot count how many numerous times I have listened to this record, but I assure you, I listen to it a lot. Overall, this is an amazing album, and shouldn't be missed by any Rap fans. The only excuse someone would have to not buy this record, is if they are not a Rap fan. If you have heard a song by Pitbull before, and you enjoyed it, please don't hesitate to buy this CD. I think I have emphasized my point, this is one of my favorites, and I give it a 9.9/10, since no CDs can be perfect, right? Hope you guys like this one, see my signature for more.
James Bond-Casino Royale Another James Bond movie made, another classic to add to your video collection. Nowadays, who isn't a fan of James Bond? This time, we have a new actor in the place of James, a British man by the name of Daniel Craig. I believe that he did a fantastic job as the main role, and they are already filming a new Bond movie with the same actor. Casino Royale is very different from your average Jame Bond flick. The action isn't as cartoonish, and the movie has a much darker feel than the others. For some, it's good news, and for others, it's bad news. First the bad news, some girls will not have a fun time watching the movie. As they seldom look for dark, violent, and serious movies. I think that Casino Royale may have lost some female James Bond fans. I also think that the movie is missing a bit of emotion, as the new Bond is nearly emotionless. Which isn't a bad thing, I don't mind empty emotions in my movies, as long as the storyline and acting make up for it. But im not talking about my personal preference. The bottom line is that this years Bond, is nothing like the previous Bond. Some will like him, and some will not. It all depends on what you expect from a movie. In a nutshell, the ones who crave emotions from the main characters, may not like this movie. The ones who like more action, less talk, this film is for you. I have a lot more to tell you on the good side of the film, before we get into the actual plot. There isn't as much action in the movie as all of the other Bond films, but it's more violent and ferocious. The storyline might be a little hard to follow, but after a few viewings, you gain the complete knowledge. Think of it like this: Each time you watch the film, you learn something that you didn't know from the previous viewing. A good amount of the movie takes place at a poker table. It may be a bit boring for some, but not for me. After all, who doesn't like to sit down and watch a very dramatic version of World Series of Poker? I didn't think so. The film takes place in many different locations. From the Bahamas, all the way down to Europe. The locations make the theme of the movie change pretty rapidly. So why is the movie 2 and a half hours long? It's simply because a lot of things take place in the movie, various action scenes, information being discovered, which all leads from one thing to another, until the very dramatic ending, which I won't tell you. The main villian is very strange, and his role is more realistic than any other 007 film. What makes this film more realistic than the others, is how all of the events can actually happen in reality. Nothing over the top, and the events are similar to real life. No other action film I have seen contains such realistic events. Overall, this is one of the better films of the James Bond series. It is one of the most unique action films I have seen, and I would definately recommend it to action movie fans, and James Bond fans. People from all over the world can enjoy this film, as it is likeable by many people. Casino Royale has been in theatres for 2 weeks, and has made a total of $94.2 Million, and is one of the most successful Bond films. If you are going to see an action movie in theatres, what can be better than this? Nothing.
Denzel Washington-Deja Vu Deja Vu was directed by Tony Scott, a familiar face in Denzel Washingtons career. They had collaborated on the film, "Man on Fire", in 2004. This time, the film features less action, and the movie is more of a psychological thriller. I think they did a good job overall, in making the new film. It's setting is in New Orleans, and a tribute to what the citizens had to overcome in Hurrican Katrina. Mixing theories of time-bending continuum, and a few thrilling action sequences, Deja Vu is as good of a movie that I thought it to be. In the movie, Denzel Washington is plays as an ATF agent, and in his latest investigation, over 500 people have been murdered by a bomb. Sounds just like any other action movie, right? But Denzel's character, Doug Carlin, is invited to a top secret goverment operation. It is a program, that displays anything that happened 4 days ago, at the exact moment. I don't want to ruin the plot for you, so thats all i'm going to reveal about the government operation. The main villain, played by James Caviezel, is the one who sets the bombs. Denzel must go back in time to stop him. Will he be successful, or will he fail. The ending is very unpredictable, and shocking. What makes this movie so unique, and what separates it from all of the other action films, is the scientific connection. This movie makes you think, and you don't stop thinking until the movie is over. Even then, you will have to ponder about the various events that happened throughout the course of the movie. This is why I don't recommend this movie to the younger audiences who liked "Man on Fire". Even though it features the same director, it has a completely different mind set, and you have to be ready for it. If you aren't sure if you want to see this movie, then rent it when it hits the video stores. If you have a good mind, and have seen previous time travel movies, like Timecop, then you should see it. Overall, this movie was a good experience for me, especially in a movie theatre. If you are looking for a good mix of action and drama, then go ahead and see this movie. If you are more of a non-stop action movie fan, then watch Casino Royale. They producer tried to prove a point, and he thoroughly delivered it to the fans. It's just that not every fan will be able to comprehend the ideas. For more, visit the link in my signature.
Ying Yang Twins-Chemically Imbalanced When the Ying Yang Twins released their album "Me and My Brother", they acquired many new fans, and it is labeled as their current best album. They have recently released a new album, "Chemically Imbalanced", which is a good album in its own right, but it doesn't have any of the memorable songs that "Me and My Brother" or "United States Of Atlanta" had. The main song released is the "Dangerous" track, produced by Wyclef Jean. If you are a hardcore Ying Yang Twins fan, then you should pick up this CD, if you aren't, then this CD probably isn't for you. The best song, in my opinion, is "Dangerous", their new single. But just like U.S.A, the album features some very nice and high moral tracks, such as "Leave". The most unique part of this album, is that the Twins split the album in 2 parts. The first half, is for the rap fans who are the hardcore fans, and would rather listen to good rap, than crunk music. The second half, features some of their classic crunk music, and party hits. It's all up to you and your taste of music that will infer on which part of the CD you like most. However, this album is missing an essential member of the TVT Records crew, Lil Jon. His production was missed surpassingly, and didn't allow for great tracks like "Shalt Shaker". In conclusion, this is another Ying Yang Twins record. It's really nothing special, but if you have been a big fan of them from the beginning, you may find this record very appealing. I would buy this, but I have been a fan for 3 years. So what type of side are you? The classic rap side, or the wild, party hit side? My Thoughts on Present Horror Movies We have all seen horror films throughout our years, some good, and some bad. I bet you that the bad heavily outweighs the good, and there is no surprise in this matter. Back in the late 80's, the advancement of filmmaking wasn't up to date, meaning that there weren't as many special effects put to use. So the producers needed to think of a plot so unique, different, and overwhelmingly brilliant, that the special effects wouldn't ruin the movie at all. Such movies can be seen in the past, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, and Friday the 13th. These are the 3 most significant horror films that were released. As most will notice, the further you progress along the 3 top series films, the worse the overall storyline of the film becomes. This isn't a coincidence, as filmmakers spend more time concentrating on the blood and special effects, rather than the storyline. In my opinion, this is the major lost art of all Horror films. The only current horror movie that I admire is Saw. It is a perfect example of the director focusing on the storyline, and making the special effects fit in. Now don't get me wrong, the horror movie industry is declining, but Saw is one of those "lights in a dark room". If only horror movies were as good as they once were. If only...... Akon-Trouble (2004) When Akon released his debut album in 2004, people didn't know anything about him. In fact, he was barely known by the rap industry or its fans. It was expected to flop, until Akon released his hit single "Locked Up", which was the song that started Akons career. It is the first track of the album, and probably the best on the album. 1 thing that raises Akon over all of his predecessors, is the way he makes his beats, and his voice usually fits in with all of the tracks. Some may argue that he is better in tracks from other artists, such as "Snitch" by Obie Trice, on the chorus, but I think he is also a great artist in solo. Listen to "Pot of Gold", "Lonely", "Journey", and "Don't Let Up". These are strongly emotional tracks, featuring Akon at his finest, in my opinion. The flaw of the song "Don't Let Up" and "Lonely", is the Chipmunk voice in the chorus. In Lonely, it fits in more. But in "Don't Let Up", it heavily distracts you from what would be one of his best songs on the CD. But you won't get distracted too much other than a few tracks, he raps about more than just Women, Cars, or Money. In the track "Ghetto", he sings about how hard it is to live in the Ghetto. A wide array of topics, great beats, and a great message. What do they mean to you? To me, it means great artist. Although old, and outplayed, there are many treats to be found on Akons debut album, and shouldn't be missed, especially if you liked "Locked Up". What makes Akon such a unique artist, is his ability to do whatever he wants. I don't think there is a single topic that he can't rap about. www.relevantreviews.net
Do you have any reviews to sell? I mean, you posted these, could I buy some off you for cheap? Cheers RJP1
