I am having little success finding good pr blogs in my relevant niche that allow blog comments. Those that "allow" the comments do not publish the comments of a commercial site like mine. Outside of my niche there is a plethora of blogs that allow and publish the links. My question is: Is there any value or point in getting links from NON RELEVANT blogs? Is placing my links on some random blog going to help me as what ever pr that blog may have is in an area foreign to my niche and keywords?
I just saw someone claiming to get good keyword rankings from non-relevant blog and site links. I don't think they will harmful to you but they might have little value. Then again there's black hatters out there who make money because they have incredible numbers of links, and they can't all be relevant.
I post on any and every blog for my sites. I find that quantity is more important than quality - a common debate here on the forums... ... I think most people are wrong, considering all the SERPs I have for extremely competitive terms .
I don't think there is a problem with non relevant blog commenting. It may not help significantly, but the search engines should give you credit for those links. Eventually they might shift the focus of search engine algorithms to focus more on link relevancy. Determining relevancy would be quite difficult though. So that might be a long way off.
relevant links are lot better but any backlink is somewhat useful. regarding having dificulty finding relevant blogs in your niche, some niche are hard to find relevant blogs and comment on.
my niche is sexy lingerie, sexy shoes, costumes, corsets, panties, stripper wear ................... I had been commenting on blogs previously but I noticed that I should be commenting on "relevent" blogs, forums... I am certain there are some blogs/forums that I can find that do all commenting on a do follow basis, but at this time I am having a hard time finding them.
What makes you think it is not already being done? One only need look at Adsense which is contextual. They know what the page is about and serve up appropriate ads based on keywords. It is not a hard stretch to determine relevancy of a link, and apply more weight to it. There is the proximity of the link as well and the amount of links to take into consideration. As the comments rise and the spot for your link is further away from the top of the page, and the meat of the content, the less value it has. Then again. You cannot rule out the brute force of thousands of links either.
I know of one blog, PR4 do follow, where it is not quite that niche but somewhat related..it is a erotic based. You would have to be subtle with the name, not make it appear like spam, but you could slide in some if done well. PM me if you want the link...
