one a week or so, it seems that relevant ads dissapear and nonsense ads are shown, and two of my three blocks are non existant. It returns to normal after a day or two, but is an awful loss of revenue because of it!! anyone know whats going on, or experience the same thing?
sorry about that. Here is one page - www.robarspages.ca/photosite/2005/apr25 normLLY, i get the usual ads touting punta cana vacations and the like, however, today, and usually once every other week, i get ads that are way off, like today, ive got digital imaging, film scanning, and photo restoration ads in my leaderboard, and the large rectangle that is down a bit, is not showing any ads at all right now.
well, your URL has the word photosite in it, and you have quite a few 'photo' phrases in it, so naturally i expect to see photo-related ads. and at the bottom is this:
ahhh, i'll get that fixed, thanks. can you explain though why this only happens for one or two odd days here and there, but 90% of the time, i get the relevant ads? Thanks for your help so far!
I have a theory about my own site that may apply to yours... My site's main page gets updated anywhere from 2 to 4 times a day... that page usually doesn't get any ads at all, although right now it gets 2 or all 3. I think it may be because the content changes multiple times a day, and the Google spider can't keep up with the keywords.
I agree. I have found that if I have a page with content that is difficult to understand textually that google either wont/cant show all placed ads on it. Usually one will show up but the others will just be blank.
Same here with my news portal. It might get updated from 5 to 10 times a day. I have been released from sandbox a few weeks ago and Google spider visits me several times a day. There are days with no visits at all. While in sandbox there was no ads at all with same update and spider visits frequency. Now I get a few relevent ads even on days when G does not visit me. I think it depends on page rank, how old the site is and some other reasons.
This sounds right. The url and the title of your page is important in determining the kind of ads that show up. Do be careful about the words that you use in those 2 areas as Google has a filter that may prevent ads from showing up. This has been discussed all over various forums. Make a search for "adsense filters" or "google filters". Here's an article: How to optimize your articles for adsense
