So I was reading this great post, 101 Ways to Promote a New Blog, --I found it somewhere off in Internet-land, and I really want some opinions on what the hell they're talking about when they say "release a manifesto" --twice. From what I understand, a manifesto is by definition, generally a political piece, going over the intentions of the writer. Whatever those may be. The post links to The Fire Fly Manifesto, and so I'm just sitting there like, "huh... so what is the point here?" Can someone please explain to me a little more about what the writer meant, in terms of writing and releasing a manifesto? Was he literally saying to everyone, "write a book about er.. stuff, and make it available to download free!"?
I read it too. He used that word for his own personal benefit. I am guessing on this part, but probably because "manifesto" sounds catchy, interesting. Practically all do not know what that word means anyway, so.... Then again, maybe HE doesn't know exactly what it means, and he thinks it applies??? It's one or the other.
Ha, maybe. I don't know. I'm tempted to send him an email and ask him what the hell he's talking about, lol.
