Relationship between the hits and the page rank

Is there any Relationship between the hits and the page rank....?
Clearly, My question is how the page rank will calculate by the Search Engines...?

PR depends on backlinks, that is it, and can be reduced by penalties by Google.

 

Not much of a relationship. PR is calculated using a mathematical formula and it does not have number of hits as a variable. I have heard rumors that number of hits do have a slight impact on SERPs. But this observation is only circumstantial. I have not evidence to back it up.

 

PR is calculated on basis of backlinks, and PR is also one of many factors which affects SERPs.

 

PR is calculated based on quality backlinks and has to do nothing with traffic on your site.
