Result depends on how google indexed your site and the site getting along with you, new sites will rarely show, they need good link building.

The "related" command just shows interlinked sites. Google does not decides by itself which sites have related content.

I have a PR4 page that has been around for a while but still get nothing back with the related command... don't worry about it.

    Hello,

Basically it's based on the inbound links to your website, but it's not a list of websites that are linking to you (that's what Alexa is showing).

Google checks your inbound links and sees what anchor text is used for those links (it does the same to find out what your website is about) and then does a search on websites that have about the same anchor text in their inbound links (or at least does a google search for that anchor text).

I have a 2-3 years old website and it's showing really related content from websites that are not linking to me.

I don't think it's based on website age, but on the amount of links your website has. I have another domain, older than 1 year and has no related list for the domain name, but has a related list for an inner page (which guess what? .... has a lot more links)

    I hope this helps
