From an SEO standpoint, how safe is it to own two keyword-rich domain names that cover different areas of a particular genre. Eg. www.doghealth.com and www.dogtraining.com They both deal with dogs, but the areas of expertise are completely different. Is Google likely to supress rankings or penalise one of the domains because you own them both and they are both about dogs ? Thanks.
aslong as the content is totally unique, then there is no problem. Infact if you use one to link to the other (not reciprical though) you could probably get a good backlink from a supposedly related site.
Do you think there is a good advantage to doing this. Are there any better alternatives ? Both domains are high scoring keywords and would be totally different in content and information offered.
it is called shadowing of domain in the eye of Google. it is occurred only if you have same website structure as well one of following - WHOIS DATA IS SAME - IP ADDRESSES OF HOSTED SITE(s) IS SAME (from where is uploaded/download usually, must be out of region) - IP Address of Data-center is found same Best method is register any no.s of domain but redirect 301(permanent) to main domain Hope it helps Suhaana Khan -
There would not be any problem with these domains if you put unique content on the sites. Both domains have their own different meaning and you can use it without any doubt.
Google will love it its good to select more relative domains. .. if you put different content in both site then there will be no problem at all.
