Reinclusion Success Story

In my first attempt to make some money with Adsense I put up a site then pasted about 50 keywords in the footer. Within a week I had the number 15 ranking in a very popular search category.

I saw my unique numbers jump from ~5 to 2k overnight. After about 2 weeks I noticed that the number fell off by about 60%. After some searching I found out that I had been booted from the index. Ouch! Over at google's index thing it said that I had violated their rules and I could apply for reinclusion.

Thinking all was lost I set the sight up under another domain name and went on without the tricks. I read that it could take forever to get reincluded so I filled out the form and went on with my life.

About three weeks later i was reincluded! Wow! I have not regained that high ranking but neither was I banned. Here is what I did:

    1. I fixed the problem
    2. I wrote an honest letter to Google telling them that I put info in the footer instead of the front page but did not realize what a big deal that was. I told them what an idiot i was and asked for forgiveness.
    3. I added original content to every page that originally had the keywords

It may have made a difference that the site was new and I wasn't making a fortune but who knows.

Just wanted to tell people what worked for me here on my first post.
